BOO!

I hope I picked up enough candy, there are 111 small candy bars in this apple
basket. Last year I gave out around 80 and shut everything off. Then I saw
a river of lights coming down the road, there had to be at least 30 more. I was
lucky to have enough, but it was close. I still have a couple of unopened bags
in case we need them.
I don’t know how they find us, we’re
at the end of a dead end street, way off the beaten path. My brother says
a smart kid can sniff out the last candy bar in a 5 mile radius.

We have a young fella who is diabetic.  He loves exploring nature. So this
year he’s getting a Venus Flytrap.  I should get one for myself. I love these
things.

I’m trying to get everything ready for tomorrow’s Halloween Night.
The Trick or Treaters have a long walk to my door. And as the years
have gone by they anticipate a spooky walk. Actually I think it’s the Dads
not the kids.
We had a lot of wet stormy weather, so I couldn’t do the lights. Then the
high winds yesterday delayed hanging a lot of the skeletons. But today
despite the winds and the cold I got some of them up.  Tomorrow is supposed
to be very mild and I’ll be able to complete the job.

Halloween is so much fun.  I think I get a bigger charge out of it than the
youngsters.   I’ll have much better pictures tomorrow.
I love this silly feeling.

The Long Way.

I had to go to the Sprint Store yesterday.  Instead, of taking

the quick route, I took the long way.  It’s a beautiful drive.

The road is full of hills and turns.

Stone walls line both sides and the trees

are brilliant with color. Then when

you come to the pond everything opens up.

They say this is our last weekend

for leaf peeping.

Then I finished the mittens for this hat.

I think I’ll be shipping everything

to Colorado next week.

It’s not a good picture.

I’m still learning how to take shots with my phone.

The color is right on though.

That green is so pleasant on the eyes.

September has been busy

September

Now Autumn’s golden stories behold,
with fruit each tree is crowned,
peaches in suits of red or gold,
each twig bows toward the ground.

I’ve been absent a while. During my
leave:

The shortened days.. woke  marigolds,

brought blooms to the wild onions, and color to Sedum’s Autumn Joy,

Easter Lilies blew their trumpets,

the orphaned pumpkin put on her color of fire.

and I made mittens inside.
