RED HEART ROLL WITH IT TWEED YARN, MARINE

I’m doing some baby blankets, and lap blankets. Mostly because I’m not used to these ever changing hues. The dye lots are gorgeous. And I wanted to enjoy the shades as they unraveled.

As a lover of greens, blues and yellows. I just had to knit this up. With size 8 knitting needles. I cast on 4 stitches. Then add one stitch at the beginning of each row. (Knit one..yarn over then knit the row). Till the width is what you like. Then decrease on stitch each row. Just like a dish cloth.

I like working with this yarn. I never splits, there are no knots. Except in one spot. It blended in fine. I really can’t find anything that disappoints

.

It’s the perfect yarn, for the Garter Stitch. Perfect weight, soft and squish-able.

RED HEART-TWEED, color MARINE!

And this is a CAT IN A BOX,

You can order the yarn, at yarnspirations.com……..The BOX for the CAT is FREE!!!!!!!!

Have a Wonderful Day!

Lap Blanket

I finished the lap blanket. It measures 36″ X 46″. It will be nice, on a cool night, with a good book.

I really enjoy making them. This is one I made a little while ago. It was, with LionBrand.

This is Sara, cuddling, with her new blanky. It was her first winter in the Northeast.

I used the same 3 cable stitch.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!!

Mitten Frenzy

Last summer I made the Bella Mittens from
the movie Twilight.

I gave some as Christmas gifts to the college gals. What
I didn’t realize is that they’d be such a huge HIT.
Not with the younger set but with the 30 something
gang.  I was really pleased with how much they loved
them.
One asked for the exact same pink, and another asked
for whatever I wanted to work with.  I have to say I was
quite flattered. Never before  had something been so
well received…that I made!

So off I went to the Sheep Street Yarn Shop in
Canton

and had some fun picking out various yarns.

The Karabella Yarn was the best choice and what I
used the first time.

I found this blue. It’s even prettier in person.

Here are some results.

This was with Red Heart. I’m still
working on them.

It’s actually cranberry. Not as bright red as in the
picture.

I have to still make the left hand, I LOVE making
these. They work up quickly and the yarn is a
delight.

Top Down Sweater..it’s a start.

I’m knitting my very first top down sweater.
I never did this before so it should be a riot.
My problem was getting the pattern. When I
found the one I wanted, it was sold in yarn
shops only.  I drove an hour to find out the
store that should carry the pattern. They  didn’t have
it.  They did have one very close and I
chose this.

It should make a nice warm winter
sweater.

I wanted to get some of the gorgeous
yarns like Rowan. However the price is
pretty steep.  It’s okay for hats and mittens
but a sweater requires much more.

Then I was wandering around Michaels
and found some fantastic yarn on sale.
Red Heart.

It’s their Super Soft line, on sale ..4 skeins
for $10.00.  I couldn’t believe it. This sweater
was going to run me close to $50.00 (maybe
more).  It screamed BUY ME.

I did the cast on yesterday.  It’s confusing
although,  I think I finally got the hang of it.

Because it was confusing I did some research on top down knitting.
And what did I FIND?  The pattern I originally wanted, sold ONLINE.

It says cardigan, although the site has  the pullovers too.

NOW back to knitting.  It’s a perfect day, sunny, coolish..the
sticks are calling me.

Have a fun day everyone!
