Grandmother’s Favourite.

Back in March I started a little sweater coat for a new Little Miss, 0-11 months.

I took the pattern from Patons Beehive Wee Wonders.
Book # 478, Mignonnettes, Beehive Astra.

If you look up you’ll see that
I posted the pattern on a separate page. (or on the side bar)
You’ll want to copy/paste it to your word
processor and stretch it to large so the yarn
and sizes line up.
Anyway I love this old book it. It was printed in 1986, and this
is the third time I’ve made this outfit.
Every time I love it more because yarn has come so far,
it’s more brilliant, and more finished
than in the 50’s when I started knitting.

A beginner who knows knitting terms would be able to make this.
It’s basically rib and seed stitch. Pick a color you enjoy and cast on.
It’s awfully pretty.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

BTW I should mention I only own ONE sewing needle
so this was a monumental weekend for ME!!

A little progress

I finally got to sit down today and actually knit away the afternoon.
We’re having dark, rainy dismal weather. I don’t mind because we’ve
had some fabulous sunny days and I’ve taken every opportunity to enjoy
them.
This morning I went out and saw this guy staring at me. It’s a hawk.  And
it seems like every morning she’s perched in the same spot. I know it’s a
poor picture, I can’t take pictures. I aim, hold my breath and shoot.
And we all suffer for it <g>.

I’m working on the Grandmother’s Favourite in Paton’s.
I’m still typing up the directions.  I don’t know how to work the pdf
file. Eventually I’ll post them.
 The back was
completed earlier:

It works up quickly.  There isn’t much thinking to be honest, which is good because
I can’t handle anything complex.

Today I was able to finish off the left side and do the right. It looks sad without the sleeves.

I still have a way to go but I’m getting there. And it was a fun day.
